Fire Alarm Designer

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Provides design and technical support for installation and repair of fire alarm projects.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Executes complete design and installation drawings for Fire Alarm Systems.
  • Creates project material and equipment lists based on the completed design drawings.
  • Ensures that designs are in compliance with NFPA codes, manufacturer instructions and customer requirements.
  • Effectively works with field personnel and subcontractors to properly execute the installation of the system based on modifications due to field conditions.
  • Performs and checks fire alarm system calculations
  • Assists with fire alarm system bid estimates
  • Provides standard documents of designs for Company records, authority having jurisdiction and any other entity which may be required.
  • Prepares analysis of criteria or data and prepares reports to determine if design meets functional and performance criteria.
  • Communicates any design issues, job schedules, and other routine communications to the customer and Service Center Manager.
  • Participates in pre-submittal, project review and job cost meetings.
  • Handles each transaction in a way that positively spreads our Company’s reputation.

Sprinkler Technician Trainee

POSITION SUMMARY:

 This position assists the Sprinkler Fitter in the installation and repair of fixed fire protection systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Service position with continuous service to internal and/or external customers.
  • Assists Fitter in the lay out, fabrication, installation, repair and maintenance of fixed fire protection systems.
  • Expected to render all services in accordance with manufacturer instructions, related codes/standards and Company policies and procedures.
  • Assists in preparing and moving materials and equipment to and from job site.
  • Assists in set up of work area including equipment and machine set up.
  • Expected to learn trade through the Apprenticeship Program with the ultimate goal of becoming a Sprinkler Technician.
  • Accuracy and timeliness are a must.
  • Handles each transaction in a way that positively spreads our Company’s reputation.
  • Expected to keep our word 100% of the time and work every day until our obligations are met, which may result in overtime.
  • Responsible for ensuring that job sites are left clean and neat.

Safety Manager

DESCRIPTION

Ensures that job sites comply with OSHA regulations and that Team Member safety programs are developed and carried out.  Conducts and schedules training programs.  Ensures company policies and guidelines are adhered to.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for regulatory assessments and efforts to maintain compliance with Federal, State, and local health and safety regulations
  • Responsible for helping to lead, motivate, and foster a safety-conscious culture in the workplace to reduce incidents and injuries.
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and safety inspections of the facility and initiate corrective actions to eliminate hazards and promote a safe work environment
  • Develop effective safety/environmental communications utilizing various multi-media methods
  • Develop, implement, and administrate health and safety plans and training programs
  • Establish, facilitate and lead a safety committee
  • Lead the investigation of accidents, determine causative factors, and implement corrective action to prevent recurrence

  • Expected to render all services in accordance with manufacturer instructions, related codes/standards and Company policies and procedures.
  • Interprets blueprints and/or working drawings in order to property install, repair and maintain systems.
  • Verifies and/or selects the proper materials for a specific job according to job specifications.  Tracks and communicates material needs in a timely manner.
  • Organizes and prepares materials and equipment to be moved to and from the job site.
  • Identifies necessary changes to proposed work and communicates with Field Supervisor to ensure changes are made appropriately.
  • Plans sequence of installation or repair to ensure that customer’s activities are not obstructed or adversely affected.
  • Cuts, threads and bends pipe using proper tools and machines and joins and secures pipe using proper standards and techniques.
  • Responsible for training Technician Trainees as assigned.

  • Follows up to ensure that suggested repairs to systems are performed.
  • Markets EFI services to existing and potential customers.
  • Responsible for training Technician Trainees as assigned.

Inspections Technician

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Provides continual Company presence with customers in the performance of the following duties and responsibilities. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Service position with continuous service to internal and/or external customers.
  • Inspects and tests fire protection systems to ensure functionality.
  • Expected to render all services in accordance with manufacturer instructions, related codes/standards and Company policies and procedures.
  • Schedules inspections with customers.
  • Provides documentation of inspection for Company records, customer records, authority have jurisdiction and any other entity which may be required.
  • Responsible for the timely completion of electronic inspection reports utilizing Asurio, obtaining customer signature, and attaching electronic report to the appropriate Service Call ID (SCID).
  • Communicates discrepancies, necessary system repairs and other important issues to the customer.
  • Provides documentation and accurate information on needed system repairs to the Service Center Manager.
  • Follows up on rescheduled inspections and/or service department repairs to systems with the Company or customer to assure the completion of service.
  • Responsible for accurately recording all time worked in MobilTec daily.
  • Markets additional Company services to existing and potential customers.
  • Provides on-call availability for customer emergencies and support for special projects as scheduled.
  • Responsible for training Technician Trainees as assigned.
  • Participates in technical training program to improve job skills.
  • Continuously achieves progress on NICET certification for inspection and testing of sprinkler systems.
  • Supports other departments of the Company as needed.
